"Hopper"

One and a 1/2 year old male .

I am a slightly shy, "stand offish" Beagle that needs a few moments to acclimate to my environment before I decide if everything is safe and calm. I arrived as a limping stray and have yet to be claimed, but I'm hearing this is the norm for Beagles. When we catch a scent, we're off and running, and sometimes we go the distance. Who knows, maybe my family will see my picture on the web site and come and get me. This is what I really hope for, but if this does not go as planned, I am going to start looking for a new home. I would really like someone that understands Beagle or Hounds in general. We are busy, vocal travelers that have a job to do and we are not happy unless we're doing it. Or at least keeping busy and stimulated.

I would do best in a home with mature humans that can slowly introduce me to the outside world. I know that I will settle in quickly and learn to trust, but let's not throw caution to the wind.

I am willing to meet other cats and dogs. It is likely that I would do great with a playmate.
